What attracted you to the field of nutrition and dietetics?
I was an active teenager who was interested in improving my health and understanding how to eat for my body. I was seeking information through all the wrong channels and after taking a Nutrition 101 class in college, I realized that a Registered Dietitian existed and they were the nutrition experts. I soaked up everything my instructor taught me and switched majors after that class.

Describe a typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you?
I’m an early riser. Most days start with a cup of black coffee and my journal. I usually get my workout in the morning. Currently, I am only seeing clients three days a week. So, on days that I am Eat 2 Perform, my day starts at 9am and ends around 5pm. I cook most nights a week, so dinner gets sorted by 6pm. An after dinner walk happens most nights, and then my husband and I find something on TV to watch. I head up to bed around 9pm and read until I fall asleep. The days that I am not working at Eat 2 Perform, I am working as a Barre3 owner. I also own an exercise studio. Those days start and end similarly but the in between is very different.
How did you get your current job in dietetics?
I started Eat 2 Perform Inc. As a mom of three active boys, I needed a job that was flexible. I didn’t find a dietetic job that met my needs so I started my own company. Initially, my focus was on weight management and wellness. However, as my boys got older, I started exploring the field of Sports Dietetics. I had a personal interest but also found that there was a demand.
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
I’m a good listener and have always been empathetic, almost to a fault, as my parents would say. I believe I had a learning disorder growing up, so the written language has always been a challenge for me.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
Get as much out of each opportunity as you can. In my experience, the ones you like the least make you grow the most. Lean into the challenge, the uncomfortable, and there is something special waiting for you at the other end.

If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what
would it be?
Oh, this is a hard one. My initial thought was coffee or wine but vacations trumps those. Or maybe vacations with coffee and wine.
