Stacey's Dietetic Career Picks and Resources
Career Development for Dietitians
Whether you graduated from your dietetic internship last week or 15 years ago, career development at any stage in your career as a dietitian keeps you competitive and primed for lifelong learning.
We've compiled a list of courses for dietitians and services for dietitians to enhance and develop your career options and opportunities. In many cases, these career development resources and tools are created by dietitians for dietitians.
The weekly NutritionJobs Dietetic Career newsletter also highlights my favorite career development resources and tools for dietitians that I love to share. I hope you can join that list, as well.
Some are affiliate links which means I may get a commission if you purchase, at no extra cost to you. These are products I like and recommend and are indicated with an asterisk (*). The fees of these resources have not been increased to compensate me. In fact, some of these resources have given me special discounts that I get to extend to you.
I'm just excited to share my favorites to make you more successful as a dietitian or dietitian-to-be!
Dietitians Teaching Dietitians
So many dietitians helping dietitians! Why reinvent the wheel when it comes to making money blogging, mastering social media, freelance writing, setting up online courses, setting up a virtual private practice, selling your digital goods online, career clarity, and more. These dietitians have done the research and can now share it with you, saving you time without the frustration!
Another reason I include dietitians is to help support and promote their work. They really do have helpful and useful information, specific to our niche profession, that you could benefit from. There are so many to include, but these are my vetted favs, or from my trusted dietitian friends, and my FNCE pals.

Resume Templates for Dietitians
Dietetic Career Tools with Creative Market
Creative Market has resume templates and tons of creative stuff. It's so hard not to fall into the creative rabbit hole on this website!*
- Resume Templates
- Cover Letter Templates
- Business Cards
- Stationery and Planners
- Landing Pages (your 1 page professional online profile)
Dietetic Career Tools with Canva
Canva* is another tool I use. Daily. Seriously. I have Canva and Later open on my computer daily. I have the Pro version for more creative options and better stock photos. Totally worth it. Canva is different than Creative Market in that you create documents online with their tools. More intuitive and easier to do if you aren't a design wiz. With the Pro version you can create a "brand kit" with your colors and fonts and a "resize" option to make your own branded stationary with a resume, cover letter, thank you note, etc.*
Business Books to Support your Dietetic Career
These book listings aren't about organic chemistry, the latest macro-elimination diet, but rather about building your business as a dietitian. All in an effort to make your happier and make more money as a dietitian.
Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts by Brené Brown
I get so many quotes from her work and this book. Sometimes a little motivation with stories is all the support you need. I like giving this book to friends too.
Limitless by Jim Kwik
Great advise that is really focused and specific. Gives insight on how to read 1 book a week. Not speed reading but comprehension focused. Great for busy dietitians and for teens too! I like giving this book as a gift.
Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande
I talk about this book all the time! I'm such a fan of checklists. If you have read any fo my newsletters you know I refer to this little book way too much! Love it.
Atomic Habits by James Clear
I learned about this book from several podcasts I listen to. I have it on Audible because James Clear narrates it - which I love. Every time I listen to a section I want to start a new business! I have my kids listen to it as well. They actually enjoy it! He states it simply. I can tell their mental gears are turning. A good book for a family trip. It's so empowering. Energizing. I'm curious to know what you will think and how you will act/react after reading. This would be a fun bookclub book.
Sleep Well Before The Job Interview
Magnesium
I'm evangelistic about magnesium taken at night for a deep sleep and to help me quell anxiety before a big day ahead. These are the two products I like and use. Both are great products. Not taken at the same time (!). Choose one or the other for a good night's sleep.
Magnesium Glycinate Chelate Drink Mix from OMG! Nutrition
I've been using this form of magnesium nightly for so long! It truly helps you get a solid night sleep before a job interview (live or virtual!). It's also good for tummy health. I highly recommend this product.
Magnesium citrate from Solgar 30 minutes before I want to fall asleep.
Clear Skin Everyday!
Turmeric from Vimerson
I like how it supports immunity as an anti-inflammatory but I really love how clear my skin is when I take nightly. Beautiful clear skin for a shining job interview.
Ceylon Cinnamon from Vimerson
Potent anti-inflammatory from the healthier version of cinnamon, Ceylon (vs. Cassia Cinnamon).
Home Office
Charging Station Dock
It's where I keep my devices charging on my desk. All tidy and organized.
Self Care
Mija Naturals Superstar - Our very own Sarah Koszyk created this genius supplement! We are so excited for her and her success. Order your jar today. Keep vibrant during your job searching and career planning.
Recalibrate for clarity with Sound Bath Meditation (yes, I'm from Northern CA). Look for my playlist on Spotify: Sound Bath for Dietetic Job Search Clarity. 37 minutes of self-care loveliness.
My Hypervolt massage device. There are tons of these devices on the market. But this was was used by my daughter's traveling volleyball coach. It doesn't replace a spa treatment but it is unbelievable what therapeutic value it is - especially if you have neck kinks from working on a computer. It's a splurge! I've had it for several years now and our family uses it nearly everyday. You will thank me when I see you at FNCE.
