Telehealth Network Job Opportunities for Dietitians: Your Complete 2026 Guide

Telehealth Network Job Opportunities for Dietitians: Your Complete 2026 Guide

Are you a dietitian seeking flexible work that is also rewarding? These days, it is easier than ever to have your own clients through one of many telehealth companies that are here.

Gone are the days in which a private practice dietitian had to have a physical office, expensive overhead costs, and the expectation that your business would be full-time. If you’re interested in flexible scheduling and the opportunity to build an “any size” business, telehealth might be the perfect fit for you.

Good news: there are MANY companies connecting dietitians and clients - you don’t have to start a private practice from scratch if that isn’t your goal.

In this article, we’re rounding up many of these companies so that you can explore who they are and what clients they specialize in, as well as get quotes from real dietitians working with them. With this blog, you’ll have a better idea of what this work entails, as well as which company might be the best fit for you.

Why the telehealth boom?

There have been many reasons that have contributed to the big rise in popularity of companies offering dietitian telehealth services.

The first is coverage: thanks to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), working with a dietitian is covered for more Americans than ever before (1). Secondly, the COVID-19 epidemic made telehealth mainstream (2, 3).

As more and more clients discover that their insurance plan may cover appointments with a dietitian – possibly unlimited appointments – and dietitians are seeking flexible work, it’s a match made in heaven!

With a rise in demand for telehealth appointments with a dietitian, we have many companies rising to the occasion.

Nourish

Nourish supports patients in all 50 states and hires dietitians as both part-time and full-time employees. As a Nourish employee, you’ll have access to benefits beyond your hourly rate, including licensure reimbursement and discounts on health and dental insurance.

Nourish supports clients with all health and wellness goals and conditions; dietitians can customize their profiles to their own specialties so that they’re connected with the clients that they serve best.

Note: If you are hired by Nourish, your starting date will not be for a few months. Doreen Rodo, MEd, RDN, LD, explains, “It does take about three months to set up; during this time, they help you become a provider for insurance companies.”

“Working for Nourish has been a great experience so far. I feel supported but in a way that still allows me to maintain a sense of independence as an RD of over 15 years. The clients I have worked with so far have also been great - Nourish seems to attract people who really value your guidance and expertise as a dietitian. If you are thinking about working for Nourish, I say go for it!” - Emily Wood, RDN, LD, CDN.

Jessie Carpenter, MA, MS, RD, LD, has been impressed with the compensation offered by Nourish.

“I like that Nourish is a W2 position, so I don't worry about taxes. Nourish has one of the highest pay ranges I've seen, especially as a W2 position, at $45-65 per hour. They also pay you well if you refer a patient whether they see you or not - I refer clients to this platform when contacting me through my PP, and I can't accommodate them for some reason, so I still can make a little money from them. Also, Nourish is really good about reimbursing you for a lot of different things, one of which is licensure.”

Fay

Similar to Nourish, Fay offers nutrition counseling to clients in all 50 states and covers a wide range of conditions.

Dietitians who partner with Fay are 1099 contractors, and the compensation rate varies based on whether the clients are sourced by Fay or by the dietitian, as well as which insurance provider the client is using. Dietitians who contract with Fay get to customize their provider profile to the conditions for which they’re offering nutrition counseling.

“I’m a FT SAHM. Fay allows me to do this with a flexible schedule that’s full of ideal clients. I was in a cash-pay private practice for 2 years before Fay, seeing the same number of clients in a month that I now see in a week. Fay provided me with the platform to expand my business, which has positively affected my family with a balanced intersection of passion and purpose.

Overhead is minimal, but things I pay for personally are annual licensing and registration fees and various business expenses such as local marketing materials, a HealthProfs account, Canva Pro, and my LLC, to name a few.

Recently, there’s been a lot of negativity surrounding Fay in both the client- and provider-facing space. Though I’m not trying to invalidate those experiences, I do believe people have a propensity to share negativity more often than the counter. Fay is not without its pitfalls, but no company is. My experience has been overall positive and truly life-changing for my family and me.” -Brooke Miner, MS, RDN, LDN.

P.S. There is a specific Facebook group for dietitians contracting with Fay.

Foodsmart

Foodsmart is a telehealth company that serves clients across the US, most of whom have Medicaid or Medicare insurance.

Rhyan Geiger, RDN, shares her experiences working at Foodsmart:

“The best part about working with Foodsmart is working 100% remotely and being able to set your schedule. As a contract employee, the minimum number of hours is around 10 per week, which gives great flexibility to make your schedule your own. There is also an opportunity to move into a more full-time position if desired.

"The schedule is flexible, which is great for not only making time to do other things you love but also, inversely, if you want to pick up more hours and add availability, it’s easy to do!

"In this role, the hardest part may also be the most fun part: getting creative with the resources patients have available. Being that a majority of Foodsmart’s patients are part of Medicaid, there are many challenges and barriers to work with. It can be hard but also very rewarding once you crack the code.”

Health Loft

Health Loft has dietitians in 44 states (and counting!) and is in network with more than 100 health insurance plans, including Medicare. Their team of dietitians focuses on providing care to patients with eating disorders, allergies, GI issues, autoimmune conditions, PCOS, heart conditions, cancer, sports nutrition, pregnancy and more.

Berry Street

As a dietitian, you can partner with Berry Street to take more than 1,000+ insurance plans as a solo provider or as a group practice. Their motto is for you to focus on patients, not paperwork.

You can start or expand your practice with Berry Street. There is no minimum time commitment in this 1099 contractor position, and you get to determine the kinds of clients you’d like to see.

The clients of DietitianLive are looking for support with a wide range of conditions, including weight loss, eating disorders, heart disease, diabetes, and more.

“I work for DietitianLive, which is the best telehealth RD company I’ve ever worked for. The company is extremely supportive, caring & innovative. They’re very growth-oriented and positive & they pour this energy into us during our company meetings. We receive a LOT of support from management, and our questions never go unanswered!

This company is constantly working on ways to improve the experience not only for the clients but for the RDs as well, so 10/10 I would always recommend this company to anyone. The training is extensive and thorough enough that I felt completely good to go after 1 week of onboarding. We can choose our own hours, so the flexibility is also a plus.” -Dekeira Horne, MS, RD.

Gennev

Interested in supporting women through the menopausal journey? Gennev is for you!

You’ll also be responsible for content creation, “including informational video sessions, blog posts, marketing content, and educational resources.”

All Access Dietitians

Founded by dietitian Jenny Westerkamp because she saw a need: a significant training gap in traditional dietetics education that prevents dietitians from feeling confident in working 1:1 in private practice. All Access Dietitians have two divisions: a private practice of Dietitian Coaches and a fellowship.

Jenny explains her why, “I’m closing this massive training gap with the All Access Dietitians Private Practice Fellowship, a paid, remote fellowship program of 500 hours of nutrition coaching and 100 hours of accelerated and rigorous training in our ‘Dietitian Coach Approach,’ an approach I developed through additional continuing education after realizing very quickly that my ‘give you a handout and tell you what I think you should do’ approach didn't work.

The Private Practice Fellowship at All Access Dietitians is perfect for an early-stage dietitian with minimal nutrition counseling experience, a dietitian who is pivoting to private practice later in their career, or a dietitian in private practice already who is not seeing retention and feeling they could be more effective in their approach.

We serve a variety of populations– except patients with eating disorders. We are working to have all 50 states covered this year, but we are currently at 18. Nationwide applicants are welcome, although we are not currently accepting California applicants, but we plan to by mid-2025.

Compensation is $20 per hour (as a W2 hourly employee) during the fellowship. Fellows graduate after they complete 500 hours of coaching, 100 hours of training (all paid hours), and an oral and written exam. The compensation reflects the intensive training, resources, and time investment of the All Access Dietitians team. Fellows can complete the fellowship in about 5-10 months depending on how many hours per week they work.”

Allara

Allara is a platform that brings together dietitians and other healthcare professionals, including endocrinologists and gynecologists, to support women with chronic and hormonal conditions.

The conditions that Allara primarily treats include PCOS, Insulin resistance, menopause, fertility issues, and weight concerns. Care is available for patients in most states in the US. Allara is in network with most major health insurance carriers, and they also have self-pay options.

In addition to the nutrition counseling that the dietitians provide, Allara also offers metabolic and hormonal testing to diagnose and treat their clients and guide them in an effective, personalized plan.

Culina Health

Culina Health serves clients with a range of conditions, including sustainable weight loss, hormone health, cancer nutrition, digestive health, and more. Culina Health mainly serves patients in NY, DC, NJ, CA, TX, and MA but offers services in all 50 states. Culina Health is proud to be clinician, women, and BIPOC owned.

Melissa Bryant Connor, MA, RDN/LD, has been loving her time working with Culina Health. “I've never felt more seen, heard, or genuinely cared for by a job. Plus, the pay. For a Florida girl, I'm making far more than I would at any other local job, but I know my counterparts in other parts of the country (i.e., NY, California) wish it was higher. I also value the flexibility - I can work from anywhere in the world where there is internet, and I can set my schedule to fit my family's needs.”

BTW, you’re invited to read Melissa’s blog post on the Culina website about How Racism and Socioeconomic Status Impact Nutrition Care Access.

Zaya supports clients with a range of goals, from healthy eating for sustainable weight loss to treating chronic disease.

Which company is best for you?

The right answer for you is going to vary. Take into account who you serve best, your availability to do telehealth work, and the level of support and community that you’re seeking. Be sure to ask about hourly rates, if you’d be hired as an employee (W2) or as a contractor (1099), and what other benefits are offered, such as reimbursement for your licensure, continuing education, healthcare benefits, paid time off, and more. This will give you a complete picture of each company, and then you’ll be able to make an informed decision about what role or roles to pursue.

You can also check BBB and Trust Pilot for current reviews of the companies you’re exploring, as well as explore RD-focused Facebook groups. Two options include Dietitians in Private Practice and Dietitians in Telehealth. Be sure to search for past posts vs. just asking for feedback on a specific company; most have been discussed again and again.

Rhyan Geiger offers this advice: “Listen to your heart. I applied for multiple different virtual RD positions and ended up in a place that I love because I went with my gut when the offers were out!

That’s a wrap

These days, there are a LOT of options for working from home while still helping people to live healthier, happier lives. Depending on your ideal schedule and your preferred level of support vs. autonomy, you’re sure to find the right match for your skills and desired client population.
