Describe a typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you?
The weekday mornings involve getting the kids ready and out the door for school drop off.
Everyone in the household has their roles and responsibilities to ensure (for the most part) a
smooth and timely process.

While the kids are at school, I dedicate a time to work out, which involves a 1 hour HITT class
most days of the week. I then head home for a “work day” for the remainder of the time until
school pick up.

The work day involves answering emails and phone calls, speaking with clients, planning or
conducting interviews for my podcast, editing episodes (as time allows), creating and managing social media content as well as researching future podcast guests, fulfilling volunteer duties at my kids’ schools and any pressing household duties (the last one being my
absolute least favorite agenda item!).

How did you get your current job in dietetics?
I worked at a children’s hospital many years ago. When my 2nd child was born, I stayed on at the hospital as per diem. However, the demands of life took over and I decided to dedicate my time to being home full-time. I always knew I would get back into actively practicing dietetics somehow, but I hesitated.

When the pandemic happened, the silver lining for me was lots of time to ponder what fuels my passion and life-long mission- that’s why I relaunched my private practice and at the same time, I launched my podcast covering nutrition, health, and wellness for families with children of all ages and stages.

It’s been amazing learning and having insightful conversations with experts and being able to put it out there for everyone to listen. My cup is definitely overflowing in the best way possible.

What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
My greatest strength is that I am resourceful; most times I don’t have the answer but I am
committed to finding the answer. I love to connect with people in deep, meaningful ways and
learn about them through story-telling. The greatest skill I have learned along the way,
mainly from my children, is to lead life with a curious mind and courageous heart and always stay hungry for learning.

What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
Follow your passion! This is the single most important advice for truly living your life with
peace, joy, excitement and ultimate fulfillment.

Don’t say or do things to please other people to expect a certain response or feedback- if you stay true to yourself, the energy you put out into the world will come back to you in the most incredibly uplifting way. The validation should always come from within yourself.

If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what
would it be?
In all honesty, I have finally found my true calling and feel very content. I get to use my
creative energy, immense desire to gain knowledge, and work with many people in a way that
matters to me (and hopefully helps them) - the greatest reward is an empowered community.
