Describe a typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you?
My day to day revolves around the logistics of making delicious products (food, beverages, or supplements) with healthy, science-backed ingredients. Depending on the stage of development, I could be making small scale prototypes in a lab (or my kitchen due to COVID-19!), coordinating production of thousands of pounds of commercialized product, or somewhere in between!

How did you get your current job in dietetics?
This job is a great culmination of my experience in food product development as well as my dietetics background. In my years of successful product launches and credentialing as a Certified Food Scientist, I am proud of the product development expertise I have gained. I have always worked to incorporate my RD background in my roles, gaining experiences in domestic and international nutrition labeling, as well as corporate wellness program management. With my current position, I am able to manage the development of new products that bring nutritional benefits to the consumer!

What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
Skills I was born with include a fascination with food, curiosity about how things work, and a knack for problem solving. Skills I developed along the way would be multitasking, strategic planning, and to implement solutions on a broader scale.

What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
Do not forget about your dreams, take them with you wherever you go! My dream was and still is to be able to integrate nutrition and product development to bring satisfying delights to people. My experiences might not have prepared me for where I am now had I not strived to incorporate nutrition in what I did. What success looked like was different at each opportunity I had, but I am grateful that all of them put me in the position to be fulfilled!

If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what
would it be?

Time with my kids, family, and friends!
