Dietetic Career Spotlight on Adrien Paczosa, iLiveWell Nutrition

Meet Adrien Paczosa, RD, LD, CEDRD, who is an amazing dietitian. She’s so full of life and captivating. When I met her at FNCE 2015, I was instantly hooked on every word she had to say. Her passion for raising the dietitians’ worth is incredible and it shines through. In addition, she practices what she preaches and has a successful private practice with 5 other RDNs working for her. Keep the ball rolling, Adrien, and continue to grow our industry! – Sarah

What attracted you to the field of nutrition and dietetics? Food!!! I love food and how there is so many possibilities with all that food can do for the body. The science and bio chemistry of the human body and how with slight changes in a persons nutrition their mental health and overall outlook on life can be altered.

A typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you: I have been working hard on separating out my days to have more productive days. For examples one day I consult for a treatment center, next I have 2 days for clients, 1 day for media and marketing, and then one day for administrative, volunteer work, and catch up. By separating out each day it allows me to be focused on one task and not trying to toggle between a million things.

How did you get your current job in dietetics? I created my company over 8 years ago and it as organically grown into now having 5 RDN’s working for me and 2-3 staff.

What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way? Born with  – Organized, Outgoing, Driven

Learned – Detail oriented – which is still a learning process with a very large learning curve! I get to excited about task and rush through things without going back and checking my spelling and such.

What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you? Keep the door open.  Along my path many doors have been opened for me and amazing opportunities have come through because of those open doors. My very first mentor asked me that once each door is opened for you please keep it open and invite others to come along. This has stuck with me, and I continue to build up all those around me and believe that building better access to RDN’s is by building up those around you. My companies internal drive and my personal motivation is build better access to RDN’s!

If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what would it be? I do feel that RDN’s are worth a LOT more than what they are paid and do hope to see that change in the near future by us continuing to not be afraid to state what we are worth.

And with that being said, if I was to be compensated for my work not monetarily I would like to be given travel. I love to see other countries and cultures lives.
