One Full- time WIC Nutritionist position is available at Gateway CAP WIC offices in Camden County. WIC program is part of Gateway Community Action partnership, a private non-profit located in Southern NJ.
The program nutritionist will be responsible for determining participants nutritional risk and needs, will prescribe supplemental food and provide individual/group counseling to WIC program participants. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training and other professional and staff development activities. Supervises clinic operations including but not limited to high risk counseling; development of lesson plans and special activities. Assists in organizing and maintaining of general nutrition education materials and displays in the WIC clinics such as bulletin boards, pamphlets, food displays, etc. Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment with multi-cultural, and multi-lingual clientele and /staff. Travel within Gateway CAP service area is required. Applicants must work well independently, and with the team. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualified applicants must have a Bachelors Degree in Foods and Nutrition or Public Health/community Nutrition or Nutrition/Dietetics. Verification of plan IV/ V or DPD from ADA required; Registered Dietitian credentialed by the American Dietetic Association preferred; Registered Nurses are also eligible to apply. Spanish speaking abilities - a plus!
Salary: $22.00/hr. 35 hours work week.
