Job Description and Requirements
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the development and implementation of program policy, coordinate and support monitoring, local agency self-assessment and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) activities and evaluation, and to support quality assurance of the nutrition program. This position also known as Nutrition Program Consultant, reports to the Nutrition Program Supervisor and supervises five Nutrition Program Consultants with the WIC Policy and Quality Assurance Team. Position is Raleigh office based with statewide travel required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES:
Experience in programs serving the women of child bearing years and/or children. Experience in federal nutrition programs such as WIC or Child and Adult Care Food Program. Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of normal and/or therapeutic nutrition as it relates to growth, chronic disease and nutrition needs across the lifespan.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist with a Master's degree in nutrition or public health nutrition, with three years of program administration or supervisory experience.
