Job Description and Requirements

The County of Sonoma Department of Health Services seeks a Supervising Nutritionist to join their team.

Starting salary up to $80,521/Year
plus, a cash allowance of approximately $600/Month*

The Supervising Nutritionist oversees operations at the Santa Rosa Women, Infants and Children (WIC) clinic, including staff supervision and training, eligibility screening, nutritional assessment, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and food instrument distribution. Specific duties include:

-Evaluating nutritional and medical information and performing nutritional assessments to identify and document indicators of nutritional need for WIC eligibility
-Planning, conducting, documenting, and evaluating the nutrition education program for WIC participants and staff
-Evaluating, selecting and developing nutrition education materials
-Preparing the agency Nutrition Education Plan for annual reapplication

The ideal candidate will possess:

-One year of professional experience as a WIC nutritionist
-A strong desire to work with unserved, diverse populations
-Experience supervising and mentoring staff
-The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
-Strong conflict management skills
-Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office, WIC MIS, WIC Information eXchange
-Bilingual Spanish skills
