Job Description and Requirements

Description:
Create and test new healthy recipes to make fresh and colorful menus within budget, through student sampling and the Dietitian Test Kitchen program
Work with the kitchen managers and suppliers to create cafeteria promotions and displays to increase students awareness of healthy foods, food holidays, and to increase participation
Develop order guides, production sheets, menus, cost calculators, newsletters, and educational materials using Microsoft Office programs daily
Chose products to order from suppliers to increase nutrition of menus and maximize use of government commodity items
Conduct monthly internal audits of kitchens to ensure compliance of Wisconsin DPI procedures, local health department regulations, school district policies, and company standards
Run nutrient analysis on menus for Racine Unified and other client districts using the NutriKids program
Correspond with school nurses to assist in providing care for students with texture modification needs and food allergies or intolerance design dairy and gluten free menus, along with nutrient/allergen information for public use
Provide nutrition education lessons in classrooms and at school fairs throughout school year to all grade levels
Create Student Food Advisory Committee at schools to receive feedback from students and families
Collaborate with Corporate Dietitians regarding company-wide nutrition projects
This position involves travel within the school district, and may include additional light travel. May include occasional evening and weekend events.

Qualifications:
Registered Dietitian (Registered Dietitian Eligible will be considered)
Supervisory/management experience, desirable
ServSafeî certified, or equivalent
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills
Experience with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
Efficiency with Nutrient Analysis programs
Demonstrated ability to work in both a fast paced, team environment as well as independently
Must be able to successfully complete criminal background checks (State and Federal) and drug screenings
