Registered Dietitian I - Pediatrics Eating Disorder

In this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical nutrition care and services to patients/clients in response to protocol and physician's orders. You will assess the patients' nutritional risks/status, develop care plans to meet the nutritional needs of the patients, and counsel/educate patients, family members, and/or caregivers. You will be required to work closely with the Eating Disorder Team and the Intensivist in Child Psychiatry as well as monitor closely the meal plans and will work closely with the Department of Pediatrics and fellow nutritionists. You will also participate in groups as well as providers within the Child Psychiatry Department. In addition, you will work with the Food Service staff to coordinate the food with the diet orders, and work to establish quality standards with the staff and services provided.

Qualifications include:

  • Six months of experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian. If working in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), you must have at least one year of experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian
  • A bachelor's degree in Food and/or Nutritional Science
  • A current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registry (CDR) in good standing
  • A National Provider Identifier (NPI) or the ability to obtain one prior to employment start date
  • Knowledge of clinical competencies based on Nutrition Care Standards of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), California Dietetic Association (CDA), and the American Society for Partenteral and Enteral Nutrition
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as The Joint Commission requirements
  • Must have a flexible schedule
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Collaboration and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
