Job Description and Requirements
SUMMARY: The RD plans and delivers nutritional care of patients in accordance with physician's orders and requirements of regulatory agencies. Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, and administer, nutrition care to patients with nutritional risk factors. Duties include patient counseling, charting, clinical in-service education, discharge planning, out-patient counseling and home care consultation.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of Title XXII regulations and CIHQ conditions of participation. Able to interact with other health care team members to provide excellent patient care. Able to use nutritional stands and critical thinking in providing assessments and care plans. Knowledge of basic hospital food service operations enabling the relief of the Nutritional Services Manager.
Bachelors or advanced degree from an accredited college or university in Foods Science, Human Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health. Eligible for active membership the ADA. Current RD in good standing. Maintains all requirements established by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Minimum 6 months experience in clinical dietetics. Experience in quantity food service and supervision desirable.
