Job Description and Requirements

Florida WIC Program Services is recruiting for a number of WIC nutrition positions throughout Florida, including a Public Health Nutrition Consultant at the WIC state office in Tallahassee, Florida, a WIC Director position in De Funiak Springs, Florida and Public Health Nutritionist positions and Nutrition Educator positions at various locations in the state. For Nutritionist and WIC Director positions: FLORIDA LICENSURE AS A DIETITIAN/NUTRITIONIST IS REQUIRED. To be eligible for Florida licensure as a licensed dietitian/nutritionist, you must obtain a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nutrition, complete a 900 hour preplanned supervised experience under an RD or Florida licensed dietitian/nutritionist, and pass the RD exam. Registered Dietitians are eligible for licensure by endorsement.

Nutrition educators are required to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nutrition but are not required to be licensed.

Previous WIC experience is desirable.
Bilingual staff are needed in some locations in the state.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
*Knowledge of the science and current practice of nutrition or dietetics as it relates to growth, development, health and disease
*Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques
*Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
*Skill in the use of computers and standard software programs
*Ability to work as a team member
*Committed to the improving the health of women, children, and families
*Have a customer-focused philosophy
