Job Description and Requirements
Florida WIC Program Services is recruiting for a Public Health Nutrition Consultant. This position will be based at the WIC state office in beautiful Tallahassee, Florida. Consider joining our dedicated team of WIC professionals in providing WIC services in Florida!
â¢ Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to local WIC agencies in the delivery of WIC nutrition services
â¢ Evaluate Nutrition Program Plans submitted by local WIC agencies.
â¢ Develop and review nutrition education materials for clients and training materials for nutrition staff
â¢ Assist clients who contact the state office regarding their WIC food package and formula approval issues.
â¢ Conduct on-site WIC monitoring and provide guidance for quality improvement.
â¢ Assist in the development and review of policies and procedures for the Florida WIC Program.
FLORIDA LICENSURE AS A DIETITIAN/NUTRITIONIST IS REQUIRED. To be eligible for Florida licensure as a licensed dietitian/nutritionist, you must obtain a minimum of a bachelorâs degree in nutrition, complete a 900 hour preplanned supervised experience under an RD or Florida licensed dietitian/nutritionist, and pass the RD exam. Registered Dietitians are eligible for licensure by endorsement.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
â¢ Registered Dietitian
â¢ Masterâs degree in Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition
â¢ A minimum of three years work experience in WIC
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
â¢ Knowledge of the science and current practice of nutrition or dietetics as it relates to growth, development, health and disease
â¢ Knowledge of instructional methods and training techniques
â¢ Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
â¢ Skill in the use of computers and standard software programs
â¢ Ability to work as a team member
â¢ Committed to the improving the health of women, children, and families
â¢ Have a customer-focused philosophy
