Job Description and Requirements

This position is for a Nutrition Program Consultant/Team Lead Policy & Quality Assurance. This position provides leadership in the development, implementation, interpretation and evaluation of polices, procedures, and implementation guidance in WIC food prescription, nutrition assessment and medical/nutritional eligibility for the WIC program; for food benefit issuance; WIC program application and participation process including program integrity requirements, documentation of income, residence and the protection of applicants/participants civil rights. Maintain and update the corresponding components of the WIC Program Policy Manual, and the annual State WIC Plan. Statewide travel and occasional overnight travel are required.

--Working knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition and its relationship with growth, chronic disease, principles and practice of behavior change, nutrition needs across the lifespan with a special focus on women and children.
--Demonstrated ability to interpret, understand and translate research findings into educational information.
--Communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
--Prepare and preset educational training materials to professionals and lay groups.
--Skills in problem solving techniques.
--Analyze, interpret, recommend and implement policy and procedures guidelines.
--Mastery of the process and practice of consultation.
--Well-developed skills in education/training techniques as applied to adult education and various group process techniques.
--Experience in programs serving the women of childbearing age and/ children.
--Experience in federal nutrition programs such as WIC, Child and Adult Care Food Program, School Lunch Program, Child Nutrition Program, SNAP Program, EFNEP Program, and Cooperative Extension.

Professional Credentials Required:
Registered Dietitian (RD)/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration. Master's Degree in related field plus three years of experience.
