Job Description and Requirements


The Nutrition Manager will specifically support the delivery of wellness and fitness programming throughout Champion Clubs. The Manager will assist in the development of wellness and fitness programs as well as conduct site visits and monitor compliance. The Nutrition Manager will provide trainings and clinics as needed in the network. This position will help organize Health and Wellness special events, supporting both individual Champions Clubs and organization wide projects.

Essential Job Functions:

Conduct site evaluations for wellness and physical activity programs to improve the effective delivery of the sports, wellness and fitness programming in elementary, middle school and high schools throughout the five boroughs.
Develop Health and wellness curricula and materials for staff and participants.
Conduct trainings for sites on health and wellness programs.
Develop wellness and fitness specific action plans.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the youth during sports, wellness and fitness programming.
Complete monthly reports and compile data as needed.
Promote and maintain communication with After-School Program Directors and Center for Sports Instruction personnel regarding calendar of events.
Liaison between SASF After-School Program Directors and Center for Sport Instruction personnel.
Coordinate Health and Wellness events.
Assist in worksite wellness activities.
Assist in the recruitment of Health and Wellness staff.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Sports, Wellness and Fitness.

Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals, applying tact and discretion as situations demand.
Must have excellent organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
Responsible and professional conduct that serves as role model to staff and youth.
Exhibits strong character traits and exercises patience and creativity while seeking win-win scenarios.


College degree in Nutrition, Public Health and/or subject that applies.
2-3 yearsâ experience in nutrition based program implementation for youth.
1-2 event planning experience.
Preferred experience with NYCDOE or Public School System.
Strong communication skills (presentation and written), leadership abilities, flexibility and outstanding problem solving skills.
Preferred- bilingual.
Ability to travel by car or public transit throughout five boroughs and Westchester.
The Health and Wellness Manager will work a total 59 hours every 2 weeks
