Executive Editor
Diabetic Living is a quarterly print magazine that helps people live well every day with diabetes. We provide readers with community and support plus the tools they need: exercise plans, medication management advice, healthy cooking tips and delicious recipes. The executive editor oversees the magazine, conceptualizing content, researching and writing stories, and overseeing selection, development, evaluation and photography of recipes; identifies and articulates long-term content vision; translates long-term vision into measurable goals, including budgeting; clearly communicates challenging and realistic expectations. The editor is responsible for management of staff writers and editors; for maintaining relationships with advisory board members to meet high editorial standards; for keeping abreast of trends in the diabetes industry. Represents Diabetic Living at industry events and on sales calls as needed.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or related field or equivalent training and/or experience. R.D. a plus. Minimum 6 years editorial experience in magazines, newspapers or digital publishing. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience. In-depth knowledge of diabetes. Knowledge of consumer nutrition and food trends. Strong computer skills and online experience required. Experience with publishing software and setting editorial budgets and schedules highly desirable.
