Job Description and Requirements

Washington Odd Fellows Home of Walla Walla is seeking a Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) for a full-time position working with our seniors primarily in our Skilled Nursing & Rehab centers.

This position reports to the Director of Dietary Services/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and is responsible for nutrition screening and assessment, development of nutrition care plans, completion of the MDS(Minimum Data Set), and menu planning. Must also obtain resident dietary preferences, provide nutrition education when applicable, maintain computer records and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team. This individual works independently, therefore needs strong organization skills and good clinical judgment.


Obtain dietary preferences of all residents within both care centers at minimum on admit and every 90 days (for quarterly assessments). Also responsible for preference adjustments as needed/requested.
Interview residents and caregivers for information pertaining to any nutritional concerns.
Create nutrition assessments for admits, quarterly, annual and significant change assessments. Other assessments as needed/per clinical judgment
Monitor weight changes and nutritional intake
Qualifications Preferred:

Credentialed as Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) from an accredited program OR Bachelors Degree in Nutrition Sciences or related field and able to obtain credential eligibility within 1 year of hire.
Computer skills: must be able to use Microsoft office programs; capable of effectively navigating electronic medical record software; familiarity with Point Click Care is a plus.Odd Fellows conducts pre-employment drug test, background checks, and annual TB testing.
