Job Description and Requirements
Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides freshly prepared meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of fifty-five employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.
We seek a Clinical Intake Coordinator to manage the intake process for new clients. Specifically, the Clinical Intake Coordinator will:
Ã¢Â¢ Use clinical judgement to determine client eligibility according to Food & FriendsÃ¢ guidelines
Ã¢Â¢ Assist clients and their case workers and medical providers with understanding and completing intake process
Ã¢Â¢ Ensure that all client documentation is complete and up-to-date
Ã¢Â¢ Regularly update case workers and referral partners on client eligibility and documentation
Ã¢Â¢ Provide new clients with overview of all Food & FriendsÃ¢ services
Ã¢Â¢ Update client database with case notes on ongoing basis
Additionally, the Clinical Intake Coordinator will fill in for the Client Services Director on an as-needed basis.
The successful candidate will have a MasterÃ¢s degree in a relevant clinical field, such as dietetics or medical social work, and at least two years of work experience in a healthcare setting. Additional requirements include knowledge of the sociological and clinical ramifications of HIV/AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other life- challenging illnesses; strong written and verbal communications skills; superb attention to detail; ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines; excellent customer service skills; and an appreciation for diversity. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.
