Clinical Dietitian â LONG TERM CARE

Responsibilities and Duties
Our organization is in need of a Clinical Dietitian who will assume responsibility for the overall nutritional well-being of our residents. The successful candidate will conduct nutrition assessments, identifying residents at nutrition risk, perform resident rounds, create diet plans, and monitor the effectiveness of interventions. As well as provide nutrition education to residents, families and personnel. You will be expected to work alongside the medical staff and interdisciplinary team to determine the plan of care promoting the best outcomes for our residents and their families.

Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Education Requirement :
Bachelor of Science degree in human Nutrition and Dietetics required
Registration Eligible required
Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist in NYS preferred

Minimum Experience Requirement :
Minimum of one year experience in long-term care preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Technical expertise in Optimus, Meditech, MS Word, MS Excel, MSOutlook preferred. Must demonstrate ability to effectively communicate, interact with, assess nutrition needs, and plan individual nutrition plans for all age groups. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication and public relations skills, Displays excellent customer service skills. Ability to provide nutrition education to patients/residents/clients, families, and staff on an individual basis and in group settings. Must be able to meet individual needs with respect to cultural diversity. Desire to work within a comprehensive healthcare team. Commitment to a healthy lifestyle as a model to participants and staff.

Dental and Optical Insurance â Two plans are offered
Medical Spending Account â Employees may elect to have a portion of pre-tax dollars in each paycheck set aside to reimburse them for any medical expense that is not covered by insurance.

Retirement/401 (k) â Eligible employees may elect to contribute pre-tax dollars up to 16% of gross salary and Samaritan matches 50% of the first four percent contributed by the employee. Samaritan will contribute an additional 4% of the employeeâs annual salary to the retirement account.

Time Off Benefits â Paid time off (PTO) = Annually accrue 231.92 hours (29 days) for full-time exempt employees

Tuition Assistance âFull time employees may be reimbursed 100% of tuition costs, exclusive of books and fees, to a maximum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000) annually.
