CDM - Dietary Manager - Full-time
Turning Point is seeking an experienced, full-time Dietary Manager. The Dietary Manager is responsible for overall department functions including: safe food handling, volume food production, menu development and modification, meal assembly and portion control, inventory management, financial performance, infection control/sanitation and staffing. Turning Point serves over 22,000 delicious and healthy meals per month from two kitchens. Online ordering experience is highly desired as well as experience with vendor relations including receiving bids for capital budget projects, setting up new accounts approved by corporate, and customer service skills. -Directs the daily food service operation to ensure the timely preparation and serving of food is in a safe and sanitary environment.
-Works closely with the Clinical Dietitian to provide nutritious and attractive meals for patients and facility employees.
-Assists Clinical Dietitian with patient education presentations.
-Monitors labor usage and supply expenses daily to achieve operating goals.
-Assigns and coordinates workload of employees to promote efficiency of operations.
-Provides leadership for staff; promotes an environment in which food service staff can work cooperatively toward objectives.
-Trains staff and evaluates employee work performance.
-Inspects kitchen and dining areas, and kitchen utensils and equipment, to ensure sanitary standards are met.
-Maintains a safe working environment by following all safety and sanitation procedures, including the use of Standard Precautions, proper storage and use of chemicals, and properly securing the Food Service area.
-Maintains all necessary records, including information such as quantity and cost of meals served, hours worked by employees, supply inventory, etc.
-Requisitions, purchases, and inspects food items, supplies, and equipment to maintain proper stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met, etc.
-Maintains current ServSafe certification.
-Develops and implements policies and procedures in accordance with State Health Department, JCAHO, and OSHA standards and regulations.
-Implements actions(s) or change(s) as indicated from Quality Improvement Audits, Quality Control audits, Menu audits and patient questionnaires to maintain or improve quality care and service to patients.
-Acts as liaison between medical staff, patients, and the food service department on a daily basis.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
-ServSafe certification required
-Dietary Manager Certification (CDM) preferred
-Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare food service facility preferred
-Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a commercial kitchen, operation and line cooking, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required
-Training and experience in management of a foodservice system in a healthcare setting is preferred
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
-Knowledge of record keeping, menu planning, therapeutic diets, and purchasing practices required
