New Mexico State University is seeking two full-time, 9 month, tenure track faculty members at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. Ph.D. required in Human Nutrition, Dietetics or closely related field. University teaching experience, including online course preparation, is preferred. Evidence of research capabilities, potential for obtaining grants, participation in professional organizations, and potential for working with graduate students is preferred. Must have excellent research and communication skills and enjoy interacting with students. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to work with culturally and socio-economically diverse audiences and possess a high degree of problem solving and presentation skills. Current Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required. The person who is hired will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Human Nutrition and Dietetic Sciences (HNDS) major within the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. The Didactic Program in Dietetics and Dietetic Internship programs are both accredited by ACEND. In addition to teaching, the applicant who is hired will be expected to recruit and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, conduct a nationally recognized research program, and engage in service activities.
