What attracted you to the field of nutrition and dietetics?
I was always a science person. I had planned to become a veterinarian, but found that human nutrition interested me more. It always made sense to me–what we put into our bodies affects how we feel, our mood, and our overall health and happiness.

Author, health expert, spokesperson, mom-in-chief.

A typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you?
Wake up at 5:30 am; make lunches; take the kids to school. Go to boot camp; refuel; do an interview. Write blog; develop recipes; Tweet. Make dinner; pick up kids; collapse.
How did you get your current job in dietetics?
I quit my full time job!
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
I was born with chutzpah and determination. I had to learn to be organized.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
Listen to your inner voice–it’s always right. And I’m a big believer in making 5 year plans. If you write it down, it’s more likely to happen!
