What attracted you to the field of nutrition and dietetics?
As a college athlete, I became extremely anemic due to poor nutrition.
Then I worked with a RD to get healthy, and she inspired me to change my major and become a dietitian myself. I am so glad that I did!

Self-employed and blogger for SELF Magazine
A typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you?
It’s different everyday! That’s part of what I love about it. Some days I am at my computer blogging, other days I am in front of a live audience speaking and others I am doing a live nutrition segment on national TV.
How did you get your current job in dietetics?
I created my own business and get opportunities through networking and social media. SELF actually found me through twitter, which lead to my blogger position with them.
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
Born with: creativity, persistence and a love for people. Learned planning skills, time management and how to use social media effectively.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and
fulfilled as you?
Ask lots of questions, take risks, have fun and be yourself!
