A typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you:
Meeting with clients, meeting with potential business partners, reading (books, research, etc.), researching new service offerings, attending webinars/teleseminars, developing webinars/teleseminars, working out, knitting and/or spinning fiber into yarn
How did you get your current job in dietetics?
I realized that to do what I wanted, in the way I wanted, I needed to have my own private practice.
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
Born with a sense of adventure, I still have to foster the sense of adventure every day. I’ve learned how to think logically – programming in COBOL (my first career was in information technology) taught me how to think in logical steps.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
Figure out what makes you happy and how you can incorporate that into your life every day. Realize that success takes hard work – there is no such thing as an “overnight success.” Every successful person you see has worked hard to get there. Don’t limit yourself.
If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what would it be?
Yarn and fiber to spin!
