What attracted you to the field of nutrition and dietetics?
I always loved the idea that living a healthy lifestyle could help someone prevent chronic disease and transform someone’s life. I wanted to be a part of that, and work with people to help them lead their best, happiest lives.
Your Job Title:
Nutrition Expert for Pitney Bowes Inc.
Company you are with now:
Pitney Bowes Inc.
Describe a typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you:
I love working in corporate wellness because I get to do a mix of a lot of things! I have telephonic or in-person consults with employees nationally and internationally, help to create and run global wellness programs, implement social media, make nutrition videos and more!
How did you get your current job in dietetics?
I always had an interest in corporate wellness, but really didn’t know too much about it, so during my dietetic internship, I asked if I could have a rotation in the field. I ended up at Pitney Bowes, absolutely loved it and the people I worked with, and was offered a job at the end of my internship!
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
Listening to others has always been something that’s come natural and has really helped me in my career and in creating long lasting relationships with people and my clients. Skills I have had to learn is time management and finding that good work-life balance. Always a work in progress :)
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
Follow your passion and don’t be afraid to think outside the box. If you get this excited feeling about a certain opportunity, go for it. Don’t let a little fear stop you from doing something you love and will be great at.
If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what would it be?
Ooh this is a good one! Honestly, when my clients tell me how their weight loss has changed their life for the better, it is better than any paycheck x 10000. Best feeling in the world.
