Describe a typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you?
It is “not so typical”. Each day could have administrative meetings with different executive team members to discuss progress, budget, teams, staffing, communications, marketing, sales and purchasing etc and program management meetings. I also spend time reviewing screening and seminar events to make sure every position is filled and accounted for each week and meeting with my in-house coaching team for updates and crucial conversations. Our team is passionate about networking with RDs across the country so we spend time on social media through the “Dietitians In Wellness” group on LinkedIn (join us!). And we are always trying to stay current and relevant so that requires working on clinical strategy, reading the latest literature on health coaching, the affordable health care act, and also wellness and prevention.
How did you get your current job in dietetics?
I co-founded the company with Fiona Gathright in 2004 after going back to school to become an RD. We started with 2 employees and now we have 82!
