Sponsored Spotlight on New York Institute of Technology – MS in Clinical Nutrition
The NY Institute of Technology, based in Old Westbury, NY, offers a completely online MS in Clinical Nutrition as well as traditional programs in Physician Assistant Studies, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing and Osteopathic Medicine.
The Clinical Nutrition program began in traditional format in 1985 and transitioned online in 2007. Coursework integrates biomedical and nutrition sciences to enhance knowledge of medical nutrition therapy. The program is 36 credits and students may take up to five years to complete the program as pace is individually tailored to student needs and time constraints.
Full-time faculty have years of experience teaching nutrition and working in many different clinical settings. As the program is online, part-time distinguished faculty members from across the country are also employed on a part-time basis.
Students learn through Web-based coursework that includes much interaction among the instructor and classmates. The most up to date technology such as Voicethreads and Zoom enable students to see and hear each other even in a virtual, asynchronous environment. Students are expected to log on to courses at least three times per week at their convenience, saving the expense and time of commuting. As students are able to attend no matter where they reside, student experience is enhanced by contact with others from diverse backgrounds who reside globally.
