This is a perfect entry level position!!!
The Resident Dietitian coordinates nutrition support to one school district including supervision of electronic menu database and all procedures required for menu and recipe standardization and analysis, nutrition education, wellness promotions, parent, community and associate education. You will provide operational support for purchasing, food cost management, accountability and regulatory issues; plans menu to conform to any applicable district wellness policy parameters, state legislation, Chartwells nutrition standards as well as USDA regulations. You will also manage food allergy and medical condition protocol while supporting and promoting all sustainability initiatives in district. The Resident works collaboratively with the chef, food service director and purchasing support manager to purchase foods that drive sustainability, locally grown and nutrition district goals and provides support to operation for community relations related to health and wellness, parent interface, and the media.
. You will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities:
Review menus to ensure nutritional compliance with USDA guidelines.
Develop nutritional awareness programs throughout the school district.
Conduct nutritional analysis on new food items.Other duties as assigned within scope of responsibility.
Work with parents to find alternative menu options for children with food allergies or medical conditions that require special attention
Qualifications:
Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
Two to three years of experience preferred in nutrition education.
BS degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
Excellent communication skills.
