Job Description and Requirements

Samaritan Inns is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve individuals facing homelessness and addictions by providing structured housing and recovery services in an environment of support and accountability. Samaritan Inns has served the Washington DC metropolitan area for 25 years. We are currently looking for a part-time nutritionist to work with clients who are recovering from substance abuse addictions with the goal of improving their health and nutrition status. This will be done through individual consultation, education, and ensuring that all meals provided are healthy and nutritious.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Part-time position 11-12 hours a week.
-Provide comprehensive assessments for residents in Intensive Recovery Program and SRO/ transition residents in the third phase of program (Must be available at least one night per week.)
-Developing individual nutrition plans for all residents who receive assessments.
-Teaching weekly nutrition classes to residents in the first phase of our treatment program.
-Host staff development nutrition work shops.
-Collaborate with kitchen manager on meal planning services and all other kitchen operations, policies and procedures.

Education: Minimum of a Bachelors degree

Licensure: Applicant should hold a current license in Washington D.C. to practice as a nutritionist.

Preferred:
-At least 3-5 years experience in direct hands-on independent experience.
-Experience working with individuals facing homelessness and addictions.
