ARAMARK Healthcare is searching for a Director of Hospitality for a high profile, teaching hospital in the Baltimore, MD area. Reporting to the Food Service Director the Director of Hospitality plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to resident/patient nutrition care and food service complying with the standards established by ARAMARK Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client. The Director leads the patient service staff to ensure accurate and consistent meal planning, production, and delivery of meals to patients and other venues on campus. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified approach to patient/resident care and level of impact is within multi-site/component operations. This is a high volume, fast paced environment averaging sixteen hundred (1600) meals per day.
Key Responsibilities
Delivers strong operational performance by executing against ARAMARK Healthcare and regulatory agency standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal nutrition care and meal service to patients/residents, and drive patient satisfaction.
Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels of client organization, including conducting rounding. Identifies ARAMARK service expansion opportunities.
Participates in planning and executing consistent nutrition and patient communications and strategies, and serves as a nutrition/patient resource, across the multi-site component or highly complex facility.
Creates and manages a network of thought leaders to support nutrition issues and strategies across the multi-site component.
Supervises, staffs, trains and manages the performance front line staff, as it relates to patient and staff development, including conducting applicable rounding.
Recognizes and adopts programs appropriate to the specific needs of the patient/resident population and demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to age of patient/resident population.
Demonstrates accountability for the proper use of patients' protected health information.
Develops and manages Clinical Performance Improvement Plans and activities across the multi-site component.
Manages and controls resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply and cost control within budgetary guidelines.



Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:
A bachelor's degree (and/or associate degree or requisite industry & management experience) and 5+ years of food service and management experience in a healthcare environment.
Minimum 2+years experience as lead individual with special project(s) or change management implementation experience required.
Implementation of Room Service, Host/Hostess programs in an acute care or long term acute care setting preferred
The ability to identify defects in the preparation and service of food and implement improved quality control procedures as well as to communicate effectively with clients, client customers and support staff is required.
Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively with clients, customers of client and support staff.
Ability to write letters, summaries and reports, using prescribed format and conform to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Requires management and leadership skills in addition to good planning and organization skills.
Position requires the ability to work with confidential employee, client and ARAMARK information.
Healthcare experience and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
