Job Description and Requirements
UMDNJ-The University Hospital, the busiest Level I Trauma Center in the state, is currently seeking a Director of Food and Nutrition Services for our Newark, NJ Campus. The Department of Food and Nutrition Services serves over 4,400 total meals daily with an annual operating budget in excess of $9 Million and annual retail revenues approaching $3.5 Million.
The proven leader we seek will be highly enthusiastic and innovative, and will possess the ability to plan, organize, direct, control, and monitor all activities for the self-operated Food and Nutrition Department, inclusive of inpatient and ambulatory nutrition services, multiple retail food venues, catering, Gift Shop, and outsourced only vending services. Essential to your success, will be your ability to passionately actualize Service Excellence to make a difference in the lives of patients, staff, faculty, students, and visitors through the delivery of quality food, service, and nutrition care.
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Dietetics or a related service field and at least seven years of related managerial experience in a high volume healthcare setting. RD preferred.
