Job Description:
Essential Functions
Develops and implements nutritional care plans based on assessment of patient nutritional needs taking into account both growth and disease state requirements. Counsels patients and/or significant others on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selections taking into account cultural and ethnic requests. Communicates appropriate dietary history and nutritional care data through medical record documentation system. Participates in physician and health care team interdisciplinary rounds. Serves as the consultant on nutrition care. Coordinates activities in the diet office. Administers coaching plans of diet office employees and clinical nutrition staff. Adhere to St. Cloud Regional Medical Center’s policies, procedures, guidelines, mission and vision statements, and commitment to excellence.
Other Related Functions
Provides nutrition education and in-services to patients, families, and health care employees. Reviews current scientific findings to update menus, hospital formulary, diet manual, patient care policies and procedures, and standards of care for specific medical nutrition therapy diseases or conditions. Participates in clinical Performance Improvement activities as assigned. Represents St. Cloud Regional Medical Center through outside speaking engagements to the community.
The Clinical Nutrition Manager must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area’s/department’s policies and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
4 year/Bachelor’s Degree. Florida Dietitian’s License. Knowledge of state, federal,JCAHO regulations. American Dietetic Association (ADA) registered required, or registration eligible.
