Job Responsibilities:
Assess nutrition status, counsel based on identified needs, and determine plan of care; make appropriate referrals and document status of WIC Program clients; provide consultation/interpretation for health care providers on nutritional assessment and recommendations in order to coordinate optimal patient care; serve as a nutrition information and education specialist for the community.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and one year of experience as a Nutritionist; or equivalent. Eligibility for certification as a Registered Dietitian. A criminal record check will be conducted.

Preferred Qualifications:
Fluent English is a requirement and Spanish language skills are preferred.

Work Schedule/Location:
40 hours per week (variable) to include one evening per week until 8:00p.m. and one Sat. per month/Public Health Center (10 Sunnybrook Road, Raleigh, NC)

Compensation:
$37,500-40,000 (salary commensurate with experience) plus a comprehensive benefits package including employer paid medical and dental coverage. Wake County contributes 5% of gross monthly salary to a 401(k) supplemental retirement program for County employees, in regular or probationary status, as a supplement to base salary.
